Pictures of snow and ice in January 2006

In January 2006 it snowed heavily in Tg-Jiu and the temperature dropped even to -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit). The ground inside the shelter froze to ice and it was very hard to work under these cold circumstances. As you can see in the pictures, some of the dog houses are completely frozen as well as the dogs’ drinking water.

Here is a part of the roof of the warehouse building and a water stop.
The water pipes are frozen and for the time being there’s no water going inside.

In the pictures below are some windows of Carmena and Patricia’s home – completely frozen.

Here is Jessie who was abandoned to the shelter in the beginning of January. On the right is the last picture of Jessie, pressed against the radiator. The next day Carmena found her dead on the floor of the warehouse building. Jessie couldn’t handle being abandoned and couldn’t stand the cold living conditions of the shelter.

Here are two females and five puppies that were abandoned to the shelter in the beginning of the year 2006.
