"Hi Kiia,

Indeed, there are so much things to be said and talked about in order to get used to the situation and understand it more, but by emails is not always easy.

I am happy to know that animal lovers from Finland are interested about our work and want to know more and more. You succeeded to have so many Godparents for our dogs, that is so great

Regarding the National Federation for Animal Protection, NFAP, it was a project for a long time and finally will be accomplished soon.

We, the animal protection organizations, will be more powerful through this in front of the authorities.

As I have told you, it is  formed by several animal protection organizations, supported financially by  Mr. Robert Smith and Ms. Ute Langenkamp ( two foreign people who each have an association here in Romania, one in Campina city and other in Pitesti city)  and it has  2 vice presidents who are their managers in Romania.

Because our association was considered to have among best results in the fight with the authorities, it was decided to be elected one of us as the representative in the relation with the Romanian authorities and  press.  Because  the main office is in Bucharest and there is a need of staying  almost all the time there and as my mother has no time for this, we decided to be elected my father for this. He will move to Bucharest and need to go through the country, to see municipal shelters, meet the authorities etc etc.

For our association this place in the federation is very important.

The purpose of NFAP is to change the Law regarding stray animals, and to implement in Romania the Neuter and Return program.

Regarding Vulcan and Petrosani cities, for several months we have been trying to change something there. We went to the municipal shelters but weren’t allowed to enter, saw the catchers' van with the dogs collected, some poor puppies, saw the catchers with the sticks with wire. we made also photos.

My father deposed some intimations to the city hall, town council and police, regarding this situation. Dogs are let without food, water or care, killed after several days, if not immediately. We have witnesses some animal lovers who live there. Just yesterday one called and told that although we were there, deposed the intimations, made photos, the catchers didn’t stop, were still wandering the streets looking for dogs.

Things will not remain like this, we will probably bring them to court when we raise enough evidence.

I will send you photos soon ( because i will have to go to Bucharest this evening and return on Monday).

Keep in touch,

Best wishes

Patricia"
