It is again time to update news from Tg-Jiu.

Carmena and Patricia have been very busy as usual. They have not had a chance to discuss with authorities of Tg-Jiu the final agreement of Neutering program. Authorities are very busy but Carmena and Patricia will try to pressur the vice mayor to meet them as soon as possible.

In the end of last week someone called Carmena and said that in a village near Tg-Jiu ( 2-3 km) a hunter is shooting dogs near houses. Shortly, Carmena and Patricia’s father went there, they caught the hunter with the gun shooting dogs with an inhabitant who was helping him.

It was a big scandal, peasants jumped to Patricia’s parents saying that they called the hunter to kill the dogs because are so many and they eat their chickens, they were very revolted, spoke very ugly to Carmena and Mircea. What Carmena and Mircea could see were 4 dead dogs, who had just been shot, also a pregnant female, and had their ears cut. Usually hunters, in order to justify the bullets, were cutting dogs’ noses and paws but now they cut their ears.

Carmena called the Police to come and an officer, almost laughing said that they will not come because it is a legal action. Carmena got angry and said that she will then call the National Inspectorate of Police in Bucharest and that we will make complaints about their attitude. Later, almost in the evening, three policemen finally came at that place, made some photos and written notice, but in same time were mocking Carmena and Mircea that they have time and effort to take care of this.

After couple of day after shooting, Pro Animals Romania made intimations to the Police and if they don’t take a right decision against that hunter they will bring him to Court. It is beyond imagination how much corruption there is still in Romania and how policemen are covering each other.

Patricia told also that one lady announced them that she saw about two weeks ago, at the rubbish dump, a big heap of dead dogs, and when the bulldozer came to cover it, around were puppies alive and they were buried with dead bodies. Does this nightmare ever stop.

Last week was also very hard in other side for Carmena and Patricia. The little cat Willa, who was the last cat rescued to Carmena’s and Patricia’s home was hit by a car and died. Also Patricia’s dear pet Rila-rabbit died. It is always so sad to loose beloved pets.

The other one of the workers in the shelter did leave. Workers do not want to make an official contract with Carmena because they know that if they sign a contract and Carmena will catch them steeling they will be punished. Now they can steel and Carmena can’t do much for it.

Carmena and Patricia have prepared a lot the Neutering campaign for the summer. Of course in the same time they have to make things organized if the Neutering program will get started. The list of things needed and be done is huge. But step by step working together we will reach our goals.

And as important are Neutering campaign and Neutering program we have to look forward trying to find new programs, which can be carried out in Tg-Jiu. One of our big desires is to find a project, which will gather together children and animals, and especially dogs. We have already something in our minds and we will tell more about it when we know can we get enough support for it.
