Couple
of weeks have again passed and now it is time to tell some news from
Tg-Jiu. Carmena and Patricia have been extremely busy – as always and
have not even time to open the computer. Things have been generally
quite well in Tg-Jiu. The mayor of the city is still keen to continue
negotiations about starting the Neuter & Release program in Tg-Jiu.
Carmena will meet the authorities in the beginning of May and the
agreement has to be accepted in the meeting of city hall.
Our own neutering campaign for next summer is progressing step by step.
The time for this campaign will be in August. We want to make sure that
we have enough resources to carry this important project. Our target
for this campaign is 5.000 euros. We have still much to do.
We fly also to Tg-Jiu in the beginning of August and try to help in the shelter the best we can during our five days visit.
There have been serious floods in Romania and thousands of people have
lost their homes and all properties they have build in their life time.
The nearest village to Tg-Jiu where have been floods is a village named
Dolj, near Craiova. There is a huge need for help and as much Carmena
and Patricia have to do in the shelter and other matters in Tg-Jiu they
would like to help also people who have lost their homes. We hope that
army and authorities in Romania will give a hand in this difficult
situation.
Ana, Vevita and
Gibonita – three little puppies saved about a month ago are now fine.
They got parvovirus which is very serious virus and kill many puppies.
But with the treatments given, those little girls passed through the
virus and we are very happy for that.
The beginning of this year was very hard and we did not know what the
future will bring in front of us. At this moment there are signs that
things can be changing for better. Of course there will also be steps
for backward and we have to consider that people live so different kind
of life in Romania compared to us. Before we can change attitudes to
the direction we want, we have to get known Romanians and their
thoughts and try to understand as much we can the way they live.
