Usko and Toivo thank you, 20.4.2007

Usko (Faith) and Toivo (Hope) needed our help and that they most certainly got! Our lovely friends donated 823 euros in a week to rehabilitate Usko and Toivo. The donations have been forwarded on 18th of April to Pro Animals Romania who will cover Usko and Toivo’s medical costs with the donated money. We’ll tell how the boys are doing as soon as possible!

Both of these dogs were found on Easter from the streets of Tg-Jiu in a shocking condition.

There had been numerous sightings of Usko over several weeks but every time Carmena and Patricia arrived to see the dog, there was no Usko in sight. Eventually Patricia’s father found Usko by accident and brought him to the shelter. When Usko was found, he had a self-made collar which had a hanging cross in it. That’s how Usko got his name. In other ways Usko’s story remains a mystery.

Toivo was found on the street with a horrific wound on his chest. Nobody knows if the injury was caused by people or was it because of a fight with another dog. Whatever the reason is, Toivo is now in the shelter, safe, and receiving good care.

Every now and then suffering dogs like Usko and Toivo are found also in Tg-Jiu. By donating money to a protection fund to help maltreated animals it is possible to support in advance those animals who have been abused by people.
