Time goes by so quickly! Yet another month has passed since the last news of Pro Animals’ and the dogs at the shelter.

PAR shelter is already getting ready for the upcoming winter. According to the weather forecast for the winter, this one will be the coldest in the past 100 years.

Carmena and Patricia have been working hard from sunrise to late at night, dealing with the shelter as well as other errands and things that must be done. Carmena is naturally very concerned about the shelter all the time and in addition her mother has had some serious problems with her legs and her brother has suffered from inexplicable fatigue. These all worries have built up causing Carmena irregular heartbeat and for a couple of times she had gone to a hospital. Carmena’s sister lives in the USA and she hasn’t seen her in three years. Carmena misses her terribly. Of course we hope that the situation at the shelter as well as in Carmena’s family would get easier and balanced so Carmena could relax and enjoy her life without worries.

Patricia’s studies in the school of veterinary medicine continue and she goes to Timisoara to study for two days every week.

The trusted vet of the shelter comes to check the dogs’ health every week and has been a great help for Carmena and Patricia. Pro Animals Romania pays the vet 70 euros per month for coming to check the general health of the dogs. Other treatments and operations (spaying, surgeries etc) are paid separately depending on the case. Patricia buys regularly medicine for the constant need at the shelter so the costs from the veterinary care and medicine take quite a big part of the monthly donated 5000 euros.

The local TV-channel in Tg-Jiu will broadcast a clip of the shelter in the next few weeks. The purpose of the ad is to get locals to adopt small dogs. This year small dogs have been abandoned or taken to custody to the shelter much more often than usually. Carmena and Patricia hope that these dogs would find new homes before the winter comes.

Building of dog houses at PAR shelter

Young National Liberal Party took the initiative to build dog houses for the dogs at PAR shelter. They set up twenty new dog houses! This gathering was very special in a way that it was the first in the history of PAR (active for a decade) when some local instance wants to volunteer to help the shelter and Carmena and Patricia. We hope this project gives a positive example for the locals to volunteer even a little more for the benefit of the shelter.

Pro Animals Romania bought the material and tools for the dog houses. Now I’m asking you, friends, to help us to cover the costs since the project took a big part of the funds meant to buy dog food. These dog houses are really important for the dogs, so I hope you see the big picture. I hope you understand my request for help.
