After our trip to Tg-Jiu, there have been a lot of things going on around the shelter and
actually in the whole Gorj County.
On our
shelter trip we visited several dog shelters of the Gorj County.
These shelters were maintained by the cities and actually shouldn't have existed
at all since these cities had signed an agreement of a
Spay&Neuter-programme already years ago. However, the political
decision-makers have changed during the time and as so common in Romania, the
"old" agreements have been forgotten. So has happened now, too, due to several
decision-makers of the cities of Gorj
County.
PAFi has
sent international petitions to get vet care for the sick and injured dogs of
the municipal shelters of Gorj
County. Fortunately the
vets of a movable clinic that visits these Gorj County
cities a couple of times a year have now promised to come and treat the dogs of
these shelters next week. PAFi has promised to cover 1.000 euros worth of
medical and medicine costs and now we are hurrying to collect funds since the
vets are arriving in the Gorj
County already the next
week. We are directing the collected funds for the vet costs through Pro
Animals Romania. Behind the link below you can see pictures of the shelters

There are
also a couple of dogs in the Tg-Jiu shelter that are in need of special

The awful
treatment and sad fate of horses has come very close to us through Pro Animals
Romania. At the moment Carmena and Patricia are taking care of a horse, Dona,
while Rona's rescue operation still remains unfinished. In case Carmena and
Patricia "get the custody" of Rona, too, they will soon have two abused horses

also begun to send petitions to the EU regarding the maltreatment of horses in Romania. More
