About PAFi

PAFi's vision and policy

Our goal is to help intensively one cooperation partner at a time to promote animal protection based on sustainable development, support the animal shelter if our cooperation partner has one and to change people's attitudes more favorable to taking responsibility for their pets, homeless animals and victims of animal cruelty.

Our association doesn't work as an intermediary which means that we don't provide homeless dogs or cats for adoption to Finland from any other countries. Our goal is to help these animals locally in a destination we have chosen.

We chose Pro Animals Romania to be our first project of helping since we were immediately on a same wavelength with them when it came to the guidelines of the activity. Very essential element in our cooperation is that we help Pro Animals Romania locally so that they do the work in their own community since they know best what is their culture like and how things work in their country. The role of Pro Animals Finland registered association is to act as a consultative and advisory support and help financially as much as possible.

Our mutual long-term goal is very challenging. We hope that someday Pro Animals Romania could, in cooperation with the authorities and locals, take care of the issues relating to animal protection themselves. Our goal is also to promote the welfare of the community so that the animals in the community are respected and the importance of taking care of animals is understood as a part of a bigger picture.
